CBSE Class Ten Communicative English – New Syllabus
New syllabus in English for CBSE Class ten students effective from 2011
After continuing for nearly one and half decade with the class 10 CBSE English syllabus in India, the CBSE board has finally made a major overhaul in the syllabus and examination pattern for CBSE students from 2011-2012. This new syllabus and examination pattern will be implemented for students appearing CBSE class 10 in 2012. Though CBSE has revised its syllabus a few times earlier as well, this is really a major and unprecedented change
The existing course English A (Communicative English) has been thoroughly revised while course B remains the same as of now. Interact in English-Literature reader, Interact in English-Main course book, Interact in English- Workbook which constitute the course A are now revised. The new edition is available in bookstores now and the books are also available in pdf format in the board website.
The stories in Interact in English-Literature reader have changed. Given below are the constituent chapters of the new and revised Interact in English – Literature Reader, (December 2010 Edition).
Fiction:
- Two Gentlemen of Verona by A.J. Cronin
- Mrs Packletide’s Tiger by Saki
- The Letter by Dhumketu

The syllabus has been carefully crafted by the experts, keeping in mind the requirements of class 10 CBSE students. The texts comprise of writings by contemporary authors as well as classical writings. This will undoubtedly help the students to develop a fine sense of literature and also hone their language skills. Unlike other board syllabus, CBSE have endeavored to bring about a change in the monotonous way of study and it is beyond doubt that the new syllabus will be widely accepted by the educationists, teachers, students, parents and scholars. CBSE class 10 English syllabi will now witness tremendous enthusiasm from school teachers who have been wanting a change for the last few years.
Target CBSE has developed online self-study helps on the new syllabus and these are available in the website, www.targetcbse.co.in/LMSM. Target CBSE is also the first website to offer online tutorials to CBSE class ten students on the new and revised CBSE syllabus. The study materials come with summary, notes, explanations and videos to give a complete experience to the students. The materials are followed by assignments, NCERT solutions and quizzes to help the students judge their understanding of the chapters.
For online tutorials which are conducted on a one-to-one basis with the students through web conferencing, Target CBSE is by far the most popular tutoring portal for class 10 CBSE students in India and abroad.

ite creates pressure on the sudents also
yes this is true that the cce pattern is v.v.v.v.v.v.worst bcoz after 10 we have a lot of pressure on our brain……….
Dear Experts
I would like to know why do you prescribe such morbid poems like Not Marble , nor the gilded monuments , Oxymandias?’ There are scores of good poems by Tagore,Frost, walt whitman, Wordsworth ,Shelley, Keats, Tennyson ‘s poem like crossing the Bar etc.
With cce FA2 & FA4 verbal activities taking place in the class, a major part of our teaching time is wasted. How do you expect us to complte the syllabus o f all the 3 books. Pl. reframe your books.Make it one compact book .so that at the end of the year the teacher & the taught feel a sense of fullfilment. with this kind of regime we are rushing and students also feel discontentended. Some are unable to cope with the new regime.
I would be grateful if you could redo the syllabus in a more practical manner.
Thanx

I wanna know more about the rime of ancient mariner
(I guess u wud guess it anyway)..I heard about this and I guess.. I echo ur tuotghhs… Agreed it is a strain.. but its not that the questions asked are out of this world as in IIT JEE.. if u know ur subject well academically then TNPCEE should be fair enough .. ofcourse with some analytical thinking in it..This would create bookish thinking and how are they gonna handle 100 students with 100%? How about CBSE, ICSE, other state boards.. absolutely frightening .. this ruling.. and did ya see her stmt? rural folks are missing out itseems.. “crap”..Agreed urban folks get more training centres etc .. but it the same with exams too.. so what about that? .. y not create two separate boards, two sets of colleges etc.. for urban and rural.. Oh how abt differences in urban itself (say Chennai and Madurai??) tht shd be solved too.. Stupidity … again and again….
Please make us available the syllabus according to formative and summative assessment.
from where should i get interact in english workbook class 10 solutions..
